The Titan range of Grinding Mills uses conventional rotary action for rod and ball grinding of all types of ore.

Process Features of Titan Grinding Mills:

  • No trunnions on inlet – short inlet transfer prevents buildup and choking
  • No trunnion on outlet so grate discharge units do not require “pumping” vanes to remove material from mill – reduced power consumption and minimal fines production
  • Mechanical sealing of inlet chute – minimal spillage when over feeding
  • Reversible drive system – maximised liner life
  • 2 weeks installation and commissioning period and only slab type foundation required – milling operation can easily moved to other sites etc

Mechanical features of Titan Grinding Mills

  • Oil lubricated double pinion and girth gear drive – robust reversible and dependable transmission of power required for grinding
  • Low pressure hydrodynamic oil lubricated bearings – no costly high pressure pumps and filtration systems
  • Drive loads absorbed within the drive frame and pivoting drive frame design – Foundations only have to support vertical load and are not critical for alignment ie minimal cost
  • Plastic bearing design and jacking cradle supplied with each machine – minimal craneage for maintenance
  • Electric barring facility – reduces mechanical footprint and no need for fussy mechanical interlocking systems
  • Electrical drive power supply usually 525V – no need for specialised high voltage components or skills and spares “off the shelf”
  • Maximum maintenance item mass on a 740kW grinding mill is 2.5 tons – site craneage for maintenance is nominal
  • Gearboxes, Girth gears and pinions are standard production items and have a maximum lead time of 12 weeks if not in stock – minimised spares holding
  • Components are interchangeable with other mills and scrubbers sold by MechProTech – ease of resale once project is complete

Delivery usually 35 weeks from date of order depending on workshop loading
